Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency: Candidates for 2019 LS poll, past results, all updates

Buldhana Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra located in Buldhana district of the state is set for a close contest. It is a straight battle between Prataprao Jadhav of Shiv Sena and Rajendra Shingane of NCP, in what is going to be a repeat of the 2009 match-up. At that time Jadhav emerged victorious by a 28 thousand margin. He increased it to 1.60 lakh riding on the Modi wave in 2014. But in 2019, Shingane is again back in the picture and is looking to give a tough fight to the sitting MP. Other candidates in the field are from Prakash Ambedkar's VBA and BSP, who are likely to cut votes of NCP nominee. 

Bundana is famous for the lonar crater lake, formed 50,000 years ago by a meteor strike. It is part of the Vidarbha region, where BJP-Sena swept all seats in 2014. In 2019, it is Sharad Pawar who is canvassing for the NCP-Congress candidates in this belt to prevent similar rout. He has promised complete loan waiver for farmers if UPA government comes to power. 

It's a battle between two Marathas with deep connection in the cooperative sector, Historically Buldhana has been a Congress fort with the likes of senior leaders like Mukul Wasnik and Shivram Rane winning from the seat multiple times. From 1999, it has been one-way traffic. Congress-NCP will hope to end that streak when the seat goes to poll on 18th April.
