BSF shoots suspect crossing Indo-Pak border near Pathankot

In the aftermath of the Pathankot terror attack, the Additional Director of BSF (Western Zone) Mahesh Kumar Singla had visited the border posts of Jaislamer and Bikaner along Pakistan and reviewed the security measures on Wednesday.

A suspected intruder shot dead by BSF along the Indo-Pak border in Pathankot last night. Three infiltrators had attempted to cross the Indian border in Sehjra bulge area from Pakistan. The BSF shot down one, while two fled the scene.

According to CNN-IBN, the body of the person shot dead is on the Pakistan side of the border. 

The report says that the three infiltrators had tried to enter into India by taking advantage of the fog. There are constant efforts by being made to sent infiltrators into India during foggy weather conditions.

The BSF has increased the security at the border. In Punjab, road blocks have been kept to prevent infiltration attempts.

The latest infiltration comes days after the Pathankot terror attack. 

Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin claimed responsibility for Pathankot attack in an interview to an Urdu news portal in Pakistan and had warned of more attacks
