In commemorative edition eulogising the Dalit leader on his 125th birth anniversary, RSS uses Ambedkar as their mouthpiece on section 370 and Partition
The RSS, on Tuesday, released what they termed as a "collector's edition" of its mouthpieces Organiser and Panchjanya, celebrating the life of BR Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary. The edition was released in the presence of senior RSS member Bhaiyaji Joshi, social justice minister Thawarchand Gehlot, and economist Narendra Jadhav.
In a bid to appropriate Ambedkar's work for the Dalit movement in line with the RSS's staunch right approach, Joshi compared his achievements to RSS founding leader KG Hegdewar. "To escape the injustices of society, when Ambedkar launched the Dalit movement, he told his people that the only unifying factor is being Hindu.
He asked his people to turn to Hindu to be seen as one India in front of the world," said Joshi. He also said that identifying Ambedkar as a Dalit leader is an insult to his achievements as an economist, a jurist and a sociologist. "This country has wronged him; even a woman like Mother Teresa was given the Bharat Ratna ten years before him," thundered Joshi.
The commemorative issue, which eulogises Ambedkar's achievements, and declares that Ambedkar was "happy to find that there was no trace of untouchability" at a RSS camp. It also speaks of his book The Partition of India, calling it one of the first books on the issue. "He was of the firm opinion that Hindu-Muslim unity and secularism are grave delusions," states a piece, which claims that Ambedkar believed that despite being in a Hindu state, Muslims will also strive to be a part of a Islamic state like Turkastan or Afghanistan. The issue also makes a mention of article 370 of the constitution, claiming that the Dalit leader was against the referendum because he "feared that ... the outcome may go in favour of Pakistan."
