BJP welcomes PM Narendra Modi's move to meet Mamata Banerjee

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the interest waiver on repayment of the state's government's debts. "Prime Minister Modi speaks of the concept of 'team India', therefore such a meet should be welcomed," said party spokesperson Nalin Kohli.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the interest waiver on repayment of the state's government's debts. "Prime Minister Modi speaks of the concept of 'team India', therefore such a meet should be welcomed," said party spokesperson Nalin Kohli.

The meeting is set to take place later in the day. State Finance Minister Amit Mitra and Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra are accompanying the Chief Minister, say reports.

It is going to be the first such meeting between the two leaders since the past nine months.
