Thursday, 28 August 2014 - 1:58pm IST | Agency: ANI

Reacting to the fresh rounds of firing by Pakistan troops in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor District even after the flag meeting with India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nalin Kohli said the NDA Government will give an appropriate and befitting reply to such violations.

"With regard to the continuous examples and incidents of ceasefire violations, all I can say is that PM Modi's government will give an appropriate and befitting reply wherever such violations take place," Kohli told ANI. He also stressed that the government will protect the country's interests, security and strategic (interests) under Prime Minister Modi's Government. "The Defence Minister, Arun Jaitley, has assured the country that and our jawans are there. We repose our faith in them and rest assured the country need not worry. India will protect its interests, security and strategic (interests) under PM Modi's government," he added.

Congress leader Manish Tewari said it was due to the failure of the present Government that the situation at LoC and the International border is so tensed. "For 10 years there was peace at LoC and at International Border, why then after they came to power that the peace is disrupted? Government must decide its policy towards Pakistan," he said.

A fresh round of ceasefire violation by Pakistan took place in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir today from around 12am till 6am to which the BSF also retaliated.
