After the photos of Congress leaders' having Chhole Bhature' on the day their party was observing fast against the Modi government went viral, on Thursday even the ruling BJP had its share of embarrassment when two of the party's MLAs from Pune district were caught on camera while eating snacks when the party leaders including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was observing fast in protest against the opposition.

After the senior leaders from BJP had asked all its party leaders across the country to observe fast against the opposition for not allowing the parliament to run smoothly, the BJP leaders from Pune had gathered at Jungli Maharaj road where they could be seen observing fast. However, on the same afternoon, two of BJP's MLA namely Bhimrao Tapkir who represents Khadakwasla constituency and Sanjay Bhegade who represents Maval constituency from Pune district were caught while having snacks at a meeting held at council hall in Pune.

The meeting was called to take a review of state government's 'Jalyukt Shivar' scheme and Kharif season which was attended by the government officials as well as elected representatives including the MLAs.

A video of the same meeting later went viral where Tapkir and Bhegade were seen sitting next to each other and as the discussion in the meeting was going on, both the MLAs could be seen eating snacks from the plates served for them. The video was taken at around 1 pm when the other BJP leaders were still fasting.

When DNA Contacted Tapkir, he admitted of eating snacks. He said, "While we were attending the meeting, the snacks were served to us a part of the protocol. We were also so engrossed in the meeting that we unintentionally ate some chips."

"It was not a full meal that we were feasting. It was a matter of few chips and that is all. In fact, I had not eaten anything since morning and after that meeting also I did not eat anything," Tapkir said.

DNA tried contacting Bhegade but even after repeated attempts, he was not available for comment.
