Gurudas Kamat seated MP from Congress and representative of Mumbai's North East constituency in Lok Sabha for five times in an exclusive interview to dna said that the BJP's  attacks are all going to have severe repercussions. On being quizzed about the Modi wave that everywhere, he said, “Where is the wave? Both the BJP's bluster and below-the-belt attacks will backfire very badly. In Mumbai, the Congress will win all its six seats again.” thus dismissing the existence of any “Modi wave”. The leader expressed full confidence in Congress and remarked that the party will win all the six seats from Mumbai.

The Congress candidate then said that his rival Shiv Sena's Gajanan Kirtikar disappeared after losing the 2009 general elections, and said “Kirtikar lost his way soon after losing the last elections. Forget voters, even people in his own housing society haven't seen him.”

Kamat, who was fighting from the Mumbai North-east constituency is in the fray from the Mumbai North West constituency for the coming Lok Sabha elections. Other prominent leaders from the constituency are Mahesh Manjrekar from MNS, Gajanan Kirtikar from BJP-Shiv Sena-RPI alliance and Mayank gandhi from the Aam Aadmi Party.

On being asked about who he considers fierce competition, he said Mahesh Manjrekar is someone who the Congress Party will have to watch out for, and also said “It of course helps me that that the SP which got over a lakh votes and the Bharatiya Republican Party which got 80,000 are not in the reckoning.” commenting about the Bhartiya Republican Party and SP.
