Two candidates of BJP and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), contesting from the Pataudi Assembly seat, were today issued notice and asked to respond within 24 hours by the district administration for alleged violation of poll code.

District administration of Gurgaon issued notices to the two candidates after taking exception to advertisements published in local dailies without permission.

BJP candidate from Pataudi, Bimla Chowdhary, gave an advertisement in a local daily without taking requisite permission from Returning Officer, which is mandatory under election rules, according to an official release.

Similarly, INLD candidate Ganga Ram was also served a notice for the same reason. Both of them have been asked to reply within 24 hours of the serving of notice, as per the release.

Elections to the Haryana Assembly are due next month.
