BJP on Monday disapproved of its national secretary H Raja's controversial remarks that CPI leader D Raja should ask communists to shoot and kill his daughter for taking part in "anti-national protests" in JNU.

"The statement that has appeared is not acceptable to us at all. He may have strong views on patriotism and national unity but no one has the right to say any such thing. Party does not approve the purported statement made by H Raja. There should not be personal criticism. There should be decent criticism," Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu told the media after an all-party meeting here on the eve of the Budget Session.

H Raja had claimed that the CPI leader should ask communists to shoot his daughter. "To prove my love for this country, I would have done the same if my child was taking part in such anti-national protests," he had told reporters in Coimbatore on Saturday.
