On Sunday, the BJP alleged that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had met absconder Vijay Ishwaran at the World Economic Forum meeting in China in 2013.

BJP spokesman Sambit Patra said in a press conference that Siddaramiaah had met him in China. The BJP handle wrote on Twitter: “In Sept 2013, Siddaramaiah went to attend WEF meeting in China and there he met Vijay Ishwaran who is an absconder. There was another absconder and SFIO has called both a national threat.”

Sambit Patra alleged during the press conference that Siddaramaiah had received a gift from Ishawaran and wondered if it was a ‘premium Hublot watch’.

Earlier, the Congress had attacked PM Modi for being pictured with Nirav Modi in Davos during the World Economic Forum 2018.

The MEA had clarified that PM Modi had not interacted with Nirav Modi in Davos at the World Economic Forum 2018.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said: “I can say with confidence that this gentleman is not in touch with any of our officials & frankly at this stage we are not aware about his location. Process of his revocation of passport has begun. Today his passport was suspended. Now he will remain in the country where ever he is..he ll not be able to travel further. Also, to clarify again. He was not part of official delegation.”

He added: “Any business delegation is not part of PM delegation. There was no meeting between him and PM. When we came out of meeting, Indian CEOs were waiting for the PM. It was an impromptu thing that happened between two meetings. There was no exchange of words or greetings.”

Earlier, in the day PM Modi attacked Siddaramaiah govt.  PM Modi told the gathering that the Congress leaders abuse him because he has made looting difficult.

‘Congress had an eco-system of looting. Jan Dhan (Yojana), Aadhaar and Mobile number (JAM) trinity of our government has stopped leakages. No wonder Congress is angry with me and abusing me. Congress is worried that if we come to power in Karnataka, they will face difficulty in looting the poor,’ Prime Minister Modi said.

He hinted at a LED bulb scam during the erstwhile Congress-led Union government.
‘When Sonia Gandhi's government was in power, LED bulb used to be sold at Rs 350. Now in our government, the bulbs are being sold at Rs 50. Where were the extra Rs 300 spent’’ Prime Minister Modi asked.

Training guns at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Prime Minister said, ‘The Karnataka government must give an account of the work they have done for the people of the state. Instead, all they do is- Modi, Modi, Modi. They just keep abusing me.’
He added that it is the right time to bid farewell to Congress which opposes Modi on every issue.

Highlighting the Congress’ declining poll performance, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘During the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress that once had 400 Members of Parliament has been reduced to 40 MPs.’
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of ending the political career of former Karnataka Chief Minister S. Nijalingappa.
"How can we forget that Congress party put an end to the politics of the proud son and architect of modern Karnataka, Nijalingappa ji because he questioned the wrong policies of Nehru," Prime Minister Modi said.
