The Congress party on Saturday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government at the Centre and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Delhi have used the issue of 'women safety' to win elections but are insensitive towards crimes against women.

"The crime against women has gone up by 30%, they just used women safety issue to win elections, both governments have failed to provide security to women. Both are insensitive towards crime against women," Congress leader Shobha Oza said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier in the day attacked the Central Government over the Anand Parbat stabbing case and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should either set the law and order situation in the capital right or hand over the city police to the AAP Government.

Kejriwal had also stated that he will summon Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi over the murder of the 19-year old girl. The AAP Government has also ordered a magisterial probe into the murder case.
