Rahul Gandhi will be Janata Parivar's lone soldier at the rally at Ram Nagar in West Champaran district. After Lalu Prasad ditching the Congress Vice-President, now Nitish Kumar too has said that he will not be attending the rally, reports NDTV.

Instead of Kumar, JDU's KC Tyagi will be attending the rally.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav too will skip the rally and send his younger son Tejaswi instead. He has not been on best of terms with Rahul ever since the Congress vice president vetoed a UPA government s ordinance to protect convicted lawmakers from disqualification in September 2013 which, according to the Opposition, was brought to help the RJD president, who was convicted in the fodder scam.

The grand alliance seems to be in trouble after these development. The Congress wanted the rally to be a "mega" affair after the alliance's Swabhiman rally in Patna on August 30 which was to be attended by Sonia Gandhi, Lalu and Nitish.
