Traffic was disrupted in Bengaluru after garment factory workers protested against the amendment to the EPF Act.

The protests carried out by garment factory workers against the amendment to the Employees Provident Fund act has disrupted the traffic across Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The EPFO is considering barring the withdrawal of employer's contribution to provident fund corpus till the employee attains 58 years of age. Currently, this stands at 54 years.

Several buses were set on fire and a police station was attacked by protestors on Tuesday. Protesters pelted stones at Hebbagodi Police Station and torched seized vehicles parked there, as the spontaneous agitation with no trade union leading it spun out of control.
Police said they had to resort to lathicharge and fire teargas shells to disperse violent protesters.
Bengaluru Police actively tweeted about the traffic scene across the country. Incoming and outgoing traffic on Hosur Road was restored after it was blocked earlier in the day.
The police also asked commuters to avoid Jalahalli Cross Jn on Tumkuru road. Traffic on Bannerghatta Road, Sarjapura Road came back to normal.
