The latest Prosenjit Chatterjee-starrer adventure film 'Yeti Obhijaan' will become the first Bengali film to be dubbed into Nepalese. Based on Sunil Gangopadhyay's novel Pahar Churoy Aatonko (Terror on the Mountain Peak), the film is about how Kakababu, a fictional adventurer, solves the mystery behind the existence of the yeti, popularly known as the Abominable Snowman.

Mahendra Soni, co-founder and director of SVF Entertainment, which has produced the film, told DNA that the film involved so many Nepalese that they decided to dub it in that language as well. "Recently officials of Gopi Krisha Movies contacted us and expressed their interest in dubbing the film in Nepalese. It will be the first Bengali film to be dubbed in Nepalese," he said.

With a release deadline of September 22, the team is working overtime to meet deadlines. "The translation has been done. Voices will be of Nepalese artists. In Nepalese, the film will only be called Yeti. Posters have
already been readied," Soni added.

A team including the lead cast and crew of the film will visit Nepal as well for a meet and greet. Officials of the Nepal Consulate in Kolkata said they were looking forward to the Nepalese version of the movie. "We are happy and looking forward to the invitation. Going by the last 'Kakababu' film by the same cast and production company, I am sure it will be a pleasure watching this one," said Niladri Thapa, PRO, at the Nepal Consulate in Kolkata.

After the success of the last episode of Kakababu films, 'Mishawr Rawhoshyo', this one was to be released in 3D as well, but the plan was scrapped at the last moment. "We had to drop the idea as there were not enough theatres that have 3D affects as well as 2D business," Soni said.

Directed by Srijit Mukherjee, the film has been extensively shot in Switzerland at an altitude of 12,000 feet in the Alps.
