Just a day after National Conference candidate from Baramulla constituency Mohammad Akbar Lone raised Pro Pakistan slogans, his party president Dr Farooq Abdullah went a step ahead and questioned the Balakot air strikes saying that the attack was carried out with an eye on the polls as there was no 'Modi wave' in the country.

“Had that been the picture (2014 like Modi wave) they would not have carried out Balakot strike. They think they have got the new lease of life because of Balakot. They tried to portray that Pakistan has kneeled down, but instead lost their own aircraft”, Abdullah told reporters on Monday.

Earlier Abdullah filed his nomination papers from Srinagar-Bugdam parliamentary constituency at district development commissioner’s office in Srinagar.

He was accompanied by his son and party vice president Omar Abdullah besides others.

“I want that the next Prime Minister takes the people out of this crisis so that nobody goes to bed hungry and no one is unemployed. I wish the next PM be friends with Pakistan, China, Russia and other countries”, Farooq Abdullah further said.

Meanwhile, BJP has written to the chief electoral officer of Jammu and Kashmir and is seeking disqualification of NC candidate Mohommad Akbar Lone from Baramula parliamentary seat.

“It is to bring to your kind notice that National Conference Candidate from Baramulla parliamentary constituency Muhammad Akbar Lone through his speech resorted to ultimate disrespect to the country by raising pro Pakistan slogan--- "Pakistan zindabad" which has hurt the sentiments of people of not only Jammu and Kashmir but also the people of entire India”, said Altaf Thakur, BJP state spokesman in a letter.

.Thakur requested CEO to take serious note of Akbar Lone's speech the videos of which are available on social media and disqualify him from the candidature of Baramulla Lok Sabha “so that peace and harmony is maintained in the country and Jammu and Kashmir”
