A court here granted additional time of 20 days to CBI, probing the death of two cousin sisters in May last year, to submit evidences in the case.

On the previous hearing on March 30, the court had asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit "original copies of all evidences" that led the agency to conclude that the girls had committed suicide.

Additional District Judge Anil Kumar fixed April 30 as the next date of hearing after the agency counsel sought more time to submit the evidences, said Gyan Singh Shakya, the counsel of the victims. He said the court had directed the CBI to submit video recording of the post-mortem examination and other relevant evidence.

On March 30, the victim's counsel had submitted that the closure report submitted by the CBI should be dismissed.

The minor girls were found hanging from a mango tree on the outskirts of the Katra Shahadatganj village of Badaun district on May 28, 2014.
