Authorities in Kashmir on Wednesday issued a medium danger avalanche warning in the areas above 2,800 meters following moderate to heavy snowfall in the Valley since on Wednesday.

Authorities in Kashmir on Wednesday issued a medium danger avalanche warning in the areas above 2,800 meters following moderate to heavy snowfall in the Valley since on Wednesday.
"As per the communication from the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, medium danger avalanche warning exists for next 24 hours in the avalanche prone areas above 2,800 meters altitude of Kashmir Valley," an official spokesman said. He said in view of the avalanche alert, Deputy Commissioners of Kulgam in south and Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora in north Kashmir have been asked to warn people against venturing in avalanche
prone areas till 5pm on Thursday.
The people were also advised to keep cleaning snow from the rooftops of their houses or bunkers to avoid damage, the spokesman said.
