Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority is planning 50 new Town Planning (TP) schemes for the city.
These TP schemes will be finalised by the end of March 2012. According to AUDA chairman Dharmendra Shah, many new areas surrounding the city will benefit through these new TP schemes.
Addressing a media briefing on Thursday, Shah gave details about the 8 new lakes coming up within the city. Three of them will be located at Aslali, Bareja and Jetalpur area. He informed that work had already begun on the proposed sites. He also informed that Bopal lake would take another two years to be completed.
Apart from these new schemes, Shah informed that AUDA has undertaken a new initiative to clear the pending files. He claimed that AUDA had earned almost Rs40 crore following the clearance of 125 files within a record one week. These files were of city dwellers who had demanded building usage (BU) permissions and developmental permissions.
To clear the backlog of such files, chairman has asked AUDA's core committee members to sit together and clear them. This went down well with the citizens who were eagerly waiting for the green nod since months.
