Assistant commissioner's house looted in Uttar Pradesh

Armed robbers struck at the house of an assistant commissioner of sales tax and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables worth around Rs 2.5 lakh at Janakpuri area here, police said on Wednesday. Three robbers, posing as meter readers, raided the house of Assistant Commissioner of Sales Tax Ashok Tyagi under Civil Lines police station here and looted Rs 80,000 cash, ornaments and other valuables at pistol point on Tuesday, SP (City) Sarvan Kumar said.

Tyagi's wife and son were present in the house when the incident happened, he said. Police rushed to the spot and began a search operation, he said, adding that no arrest has been made so far.
