Assam: Two people, one minor arrested for 'openly' carrying beef

Amidst uproar over beef in the country, police have arrested three people including a minor in Jorhat town in Upper Assam.

According to a NDTV report, they were allegedly 'openly' carrying beef through a street. They have been charged for hurting religious sentiments.

The complaint says that these men were showing half kg beef to people near a prayer place.

However, the men have said that the meat was brought from a slaughterhouse.
