In a reversal of gender role, police here have booked a 19-year-old girl for abducting a 17-year-old boy. It's in North Delhi's Timarpur area that the crime of passion took a feminine hue.

The parents of the minor boy have alleged that the boy before eloping with the girl also stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh. Since he is a minor, a case of kidnapping has been registered against the girl and the police are on the lookout for the duo.

On September 9, the father of the victim alleged that his son had been kidnapped by a girl who was also sexually and mentally harassing the boy. Police said that the victim drove his father's car till the girl's house and parked it there. He then sent a text message to his father informing about the car and the fact that he was leaving the house with his share of money. The boy stole cash, jewellery, ATM cards, mobile phones and his father's driving licence before leaving the house.

As per the FIR, the boy knew the girl for about four months. "I couldn't find my son anywhere and then his friends informed me about this girl. I went to her house but the parents of the girl were not even bothered. Why will my son steal so much money? The girl was sexually and mentally harassing my son and hence he has taken this step," said the father of the boy.

He further added that the parents of the accused are also involved in the crime as on earlier occasions they tried to persuade him and he had been spending more money than required.

Interestingly, police sources revealed that the father of the boy had approached them in July stating that their son had gone missing but he returned home the next day.

Initial investigations revealed that they were hiding in Outer Delhi's Karawal Nagar area but on raiding the location the duo could not be found. "A case of kidnapping under section 363/34 has been registered at Timarpur police station. Further investigations are underway," said a senior police officer.
