Appealing to 'Tinder' feels: How to date better online

While money can get you into the world of online dating, it does not purchase the charm and finesse to woo a woman and secure a date. But one man's failing is another's business opportunity.

Professional help is on hand, by way of online tutorials classes and live seminars, to teach men how to 'make it happen'.

"I help men overcome the fear of rejection and find the courage to approach a girl," said Kshitij Sehrawat, Founder of Ironman Lifestyle, "I also teach them how to communicate by giving tips on eye-contact, voice pitch while speaking, body language and how to be expressive."

'I teach guys how to get better with women and lead a fulfilling lifestyle by helping them overcome their fears, increase confidence and share proven methods that are guaranteed to bring results while being their natural and true self,' says his website. Fees for such services range between Rs 15,000 to Rs 35,000.

Sherawat provides two types of classes: A three-day personal coaching service that involves a trip to the mall and clubs, and personal attention.

Then there is the online program, a three-month webinar, that coaches and solves queries through live interaction.

Most students fall in the 23 to 36 age group and the oldest he has trained is 43 years old. Their professions are diverse and include engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, naval officers, Army officers, officials from the Indian Administrative Services and policemen.

Psychologists classify such seeker as those who lack confidence, and/or are depressed and lonely. They are sceptical of this as a money-spinning machine. "By using dating apps and enrolling in such classes, people lose track of their actual personality and are building an 'online' personality that appeals to social media," said psychiatrist Dr Ambarish Dharmadhikari from Mpower-The foundation. "It is nothing but a business to mint money."

Celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra have invested in dating apps, encouraged by the buoyant youth presence in the online dating sector. It's not surprising that many on the platforms want to perform better.
