Ending speculations, the BJP on Saturday said they have no truck with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rebels and they favour the continuation of the Governor's rule for peace and development in strife-torn Jammu and Kashmir.

"I will certainly check with the state unit and ensure that BJP keeps itself scrupulously out of whatever is happening in other parties in the Valley. We are for continuing with Governor's rule in the interest of peace, governance and development in the state," tweeted Ram Madhav, national general secretary of the BJP.

The tweet comes in response to former chief minister Omar Abdullah's remark that BJP has confessed to being party to break the PDP.

"Contrary to Ram Madhav's assertions, the state unit of the BJP confesses to being party to the efforts to break the PDP. Power at any cost would seem to be the guiding philosophy," Omar tweeted tagging a media report.

The developments come against the backdrop of rebellion by PDP leaders and lawmakers against the leadership of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.

The PDP members who have openly questioned the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti are former state sports minister and an influential Shia cleric Imran Reza Ansari, who represents Pattan constituency, his uncle Abid Hussain Ansari who represents Zadibal constituency, Mohommad Abbaas Wani, MLA of Gulmarg constituency, Javed Beag, who represents Baramulla constituency, and Yasir Reshi, who is a member of Legislative Council.

"I am in complete conformity with the views expressed recently by my esteemed colleagues to find an alternative to the traditional two family systems. The only way out is to give a chance to a new leadership. The state needs a respite from the tried, tested and failed two family power sharing model," said Yasir Reshi, Member of Legislative Council.

What has created a tricky situation for the PDP is that the rebels are demanding probe into the allegations of corruption in the previous Mehbooba Mufti government. Even letters doling favours to kins of former PDP ministers have surfaced prompting the rebels and opposition to urge governor NN Vohra to order a probe.

"They (previous government) have made illegal and backdoor appointments in different government departments. Those deserving were ignored and their favorites were appointed through backdoor. There should be a probe into the appointment scam", said Abid Hussian Ansari, rebel PDP MLA from Zadibal constituency.

Omar Hits At BJP Over PDP Divide

Earlier in the day, former J&K CM Omar Abdullah alleged that the state unit of the BJP confessed to being party to the efforts to break the PDP.
