Amid acute cash crunch, IITF reduced entry tickets prices

India Trade Promotion Organisation announces the reduction in India International Trade Fair 2016 entry ticket charges and free entry for children up to 12 years for all days starting from November 19 to 27, ITPO said.

After receiving a tepid response due to acute cash crunch, the India International Trade Fair (IITF) on Thursday reduced the prices of its entry tickets for visitors from November 19 even as the entry for children aged up to 12 has been made free. According to the ITPO, the decision has been taken considering the necessity of facilitating adequate footfall and enhancing the activity during IITF 2016.

"India Trade Promotion Organisation announces the reduction in India International Trade Fair 2016 entry ticket charges and free entry for children up to 12 years for all days starting from November 19 to 27," ITPO said. The ticket price fro adults visiting on working days will now be Rs 50 which earlier was Rs 60 while entry fee for children aged below 12 is free against Rs 40 earlier.

Whereas, on weekends and holidays, adult visitors will have to spend Rs 100 to visit the fair from Rs 120 earlier and free entry has been permitted for children that was Rs 60 earlier. Senior citizens and differently-abled persons will continue to enjoy free entry at the fair. The fair, that began on November 14 at Pragati Maidan, has been hit hard as it comes on the heels of the government's demonetization move.
