The government's cousnel pleaded that the bail granted to Prajapati was without considering the correct facts and circumstances. Gayatari was, however, not released from prison despite being granted bail despite the police seeking a judicial remand in two other cases against him.

In his order, the Chief Justice not only directed that the April 25 bail order be kept on abeyance, but also issued directives to the police to immediately arrest two other accused in the gang-rape case – Vikas and Pintu. The court posted the matter for next hearing after two months.

This means that the controversial former minister will have to remain behind bars for another two months, or longer. The police is preparing drawing up a charge-sheet against him to ensure that Prajapati gets maximum punishment in the rape case.
