The Andhra University campus in this port city has been decked up for the first Cabinet meeting of the newly-elected TDP-led Government.
University officials, district authorities and Ministers from the district are monitoring the arrangements for the meeting to be held in Executive Council Hall of the varsity.
This will be the first meeting of the Cabinet after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took oath on Sunday last as head of the TDP-BJP Government.
The varsity authorities have refurbished the Hall and installed the latest air-conditioning system, besides carrying out repair works, officials said.
Arrangements have also been made at Government guest houses and other places for accommodating Ministers and senior officials, they said.
All Cabinet members, except Municipal Minister P Narayana, who has been deputed for monitoring relief works in Himachal Pradesh, where 24 students from a Hyderabad-based engineering college were washed away, would attend the meet.
Minister for Panchayat Raj Ayyannapathrudu visited the varsity premises this evening and interacted with Vice- Chancellor G S N Raju and other senior officials.
City Police have taken control of the premises and stepped up security measures at all entry points. In-Charge Police Commissioner Atul Singh and other officials are monitoring the security arrangement.
