Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has stood firmly behind BJP MLA Shivaji Kardile and has told Shiv Sena Ministers to go slow on Ahmednagar double murder case in which two Shiv Sena leaders were killed on Saturday evening.
It was Sena ministers who raised the issue of Ahmednagar murders and demanded that Kardile be removed from BJP. The Sena ministers had also demanded that Kardile should be expelled from the party as well as a legislature.
Minister for Environment and Sena leader Ramdas Kadam informed media persons that they raised the issue by meeting Chief Minister Fadnavis just before the Cabinet meeting. Kadam informed that Sena ministers have demanded the immediate removal of Kardile from BJP. He said that it was BJP which had joined hands with NCP and Congress during elections in Ahmednagar which resulted in the defeat of Sena. He said that the political developments have ultimately resulted in Kedgaon incident on Saturday where two Shiv Sena leaders were shot dead.
Kadam said that Shiv Sainiks have been falsely implicated and FIRs have been registered against 650 Sena workers. These cases should be withdrawn and immediate action needs to be taken against Kardile, said Kadam. Pointing out that BJP MLA led the mob which vandalised SP office and cases have been filed only against 20 persons whereas after Rasta Roko, 650 Shiv Sainiks have been booked.
When asked ab out Chief Minister's response Kadam sai d, `he only heard us and did not promise any action.'
Sources informed that Fadnavis has advised Sena Ministers to go slow on the Ahmednagar issue. Fadnavis is believed to have assured Sena ministers that FIRs against Shiv Sainiks wo uld be withdrawn after ascertaining the video footage of the Rasta Roko.
