CM relishes ‘Dalit’s thali’, took stock of governance in Bundi, ordered speedy remedies
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, on the second day of her three-day visit to Bundi district under Aap Ka Zila, Aap Ki Sarkar programme, while returning to Bundi, unexpectedly stopped at a Dalit’s home in Matunda village near Bundi city and had lunch with them. She reached Babulal Bairwa’s home where Babulal’s mother Sohanibai and wife Sanjana served her home cooked food that included dal, kadi, chatni, and palak curry, salad and roti. “I would never forget the taste of such a delicious food for years,” Raje said, adding the urban food can never match the delicious taste of the rural food.
State UDH minister Srichand Kripalani and food and supplies minister Babu Lal Verma were among those present with the district officials.
However, the dilapidated and unhygienic conditions at places she visited left a bad taste in her mouth. Raje not only expressed her displeasure but she also took the officials concerned to the task.
At the tribal hostel on Nainwa road, much to her annoyance she found deplorable conditions. The hostel ground was full of stray cattle and haystack.
The hostel superintendent complained to the CM that the cattle feed sellers have encroached upon the hostel ground. The CM immediately ordered the removal of encroachment.
Raje also visited the girls’ hostel of Babu Jagjivan Ram college and inspected the conditions. The girls informed the CM that there was no boundary wall around the hostel ground. The CM directed the district collector Shivangi Swarnkar to build a boundary wall around the hostel ground. Stains of spitting on the walls really upset her.
During surprise visits at the primary health centre (PHC) and Gram Panchayat Cooperative Societies office and godown in Barupura Ojha village she expressed her displeasure on finding the ANM absent from the duty.
On noticing the primary, secondary and senior secondary schools running separately, Raje directed the district collector to merge these schools into one. The villagers in Bharupura Ojha complained that the RO plant installed long ago in the village was not functional.
At Khatkat village on the way on her surprise visits, Raje stopped at Annapurna Bhandar and examined the register of beneficiaries. The locals complained that the names of prosperous people, having good homes and sources of livelihood have been included in the list of BPL families. She also checked the list of commodities being sold at fair price shop and took a serious note of the complaint and delivered necessary directions to the district officials.
Raje also inspected the overbridge constructed in 2016 on Motipura-Pipliya route and looked unhappy with the quality of construction and immediately called the principal secretary of PWD Alok and delivered necessary instructions.
CM Raje also made a surprise visit at model government senior secondary school in Pipliya village and expressed her unhappiness over filthy conditions and an inadequate number of toilets and mismanagement.
