The rebel faction of the Aam Aadmi Party has started registrations for it's Swaraj Samvad, a conference to be held in Gurgaon on April 14. It has a guest list of National Council members making headlines recently for either resigning from many posts in the party, or being suspended for 'anti-party activities'.

The meeting has been called by Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav, the two left-leaning AAP leaders removed from the Parliamentray Affairs Committee and the National Executive by party chief Arvind Kejriwal and his coterie of loyalists.

The meeting has been called for only AAP National Council leaders and special invitees who are "disturbed" by the recent purge in the party and are looking for a pace (did you mean place) to talk things over, sources say.

The invitation has been signed by 48 such leaders, some of whom are Ajit Jha, ex-NE member, Anand Kumar ex-NE member, Christina Samy who resigned from the NE, Bhushan, Yadav, Rakesh Sinha suspended NE member, Vishal Sharma suspended NE member, Pankaj Pushkar MLA, Soni Sori state committee member from Chhattisgarh, Dayamani Barla, NE special invitee and Jyoti Mann suspended party member from Punjab.

While the Kejriwal camp is said to have issued a warning to party members against attending the meeting, some of the organisers say that it is primarily to address two questions - where did we go wrong and what is the way forward. While 800-1,000 people were initially expected, Anand Kumar's tweets on Sunday indicated that over 1,500 had already registered on the first day.

Sources in this faction say that forming another party is a bad idea and the senior leadership will not go for it. A senior leader said that the AAP is their own house, which has currently been taken over by a few "guest stars". They will not leave their party for such people but fight to get it back, said the leader, indicating that the Kejriwal camp will not have it easy despite suspending members so rapidly.

Making sure the world knows that their actions are in the best interest for the party, and not a way of creating rifts, the events pre-invite on socila media said, ""Finally, there is a new path that involves restarting the journey of alternative politics so as to remain true to the original spirit of the andolan. But do we have the stamina for this journey? YOU will help define this trajectory. Your voice will lead the future. Come participate in this dialogue with us."
