Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday promised an inquiry into alleged acquiring of Waqf Board's 283 properties in the national capital by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which was raised by Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan in the Assembly. Khan alleged that the DDA is allegedly planning to construct parks on graveyard. The MLA said that as per the Gazette notification, properties of Waqf Board cannot be transferred. A probe should be ordered to know how these lands were acquired by DDA.

"Out of total 1,977 Waqf properties, DDA has acquired 282 properties. DDA is planning to construct park on graveyard. Also, the Lt Governor, who is chairman of the DDA, is supporting the agency in the matter," he alleged.

"Earlier people use to donate land so that it can be used for the betterment of the community. These land are now being acquired illegally by DDA," said Naresh Yadav, another AAP MLA.

"We will get the matter investigated by the Revenue Department," Sisodia said.
