45 trapped inside Durgapur coal mine rescued

The miners were rescued after five hours on Thursday morning.

All coal miners trapped inside the coal mine at Pandabeshwar in Durgapur at West Bengal were rescued after five hours on Thursday morning.

As many as 45 coal miners on the night shift had stepped inside the mine with the help of a trolley at 12am. The shift was to get over at around 8am, but with the boiler inside the mine malfunctioning, the miners were trapped inside.

While all of them were safe, the management reportedly made sure they had sufficient food and water supply inside the mine throughout the rescue operation. 

Finally, at around 1.30am, the boiler inside the mine was repaired and all the 45 miners trapped inside were rescued with the help of a trolley.
