Security agencies affiliated to Election Commission have seized as many as 285 illegal arms, cash to the tune of Rs 85.71 lakh and liquor worth Rs 5 crore in five constituencies of Rajasthan going to poll on April 24.
Besides, narcotic drugs worth Rs 12.62 lakh, 12,681 kg of explosives (mainly used for mining purpose), and 316 cartridges were also seized from parts of Rajasthan an official spokesman of the CEO said today.
Sixteen factories making illegal arms were also unearthed in parts of the state, he said.
Altogether 18,713 licensed arms were deposited by people on the eve of polls, while 8 arms were recovered from those who did not deposit to respective police stations.
9,914 crime cases were registered, and 28,287 people having crime record were "paband" (bound) by police stations, and 5,892 non-bailable warrants were executed against wanted criminals.
