18-year-old student commits suicide in college washroom in New Delhi

An 18-year-old woman, a student of Bharati College in Janakpuri here, allegedly committed suicide today in the institute's washroom, police said.

She was rushed to a hospital after she was found unconscious in the toilet by college staff. The hospital's authorities declared her brought dead, they said.

It is suspected that the woman, a resident of Najafgarh, consumed a pesticide, police said.

She was a second-year BA student at the college, Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), said. 

No suicide note was found and it is yet be ascertained as to why she took the extreme step, police said.
