Ten Border Security Force (BSF) jawans of the 83rd Battalion, who were on their way to Jammu and Kashmir for posting, went missing from a special Army Train on Wednesday at Dhanbad Railway Station.

The train — carrying 83 BSF Jawans — was headed to Samba railway station as part of the annual changeover of BSF Battalions posted in Jammu and Kashmir.

The 83rd Battalion Commandant lodged an FIR at the Mughalsarai GRP, stating these jawans were 'absent without leave'. JK Yadav, sub-inspector GRP Mughalsarai said, "The matter came to light when the special train halted at Mughasarai and a head count revealed that 10 were missing. A case has been registered and investigations are on." The GRP said that they have sought photographs and more details about the missing BSF soldiers to ascertain their whereabouts. "We have flashed the missing report to the Dhanbad and Bardman GRPs," said Yadav.
