Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who arrived on a 7-day trip to India on Saturday, will be visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra today

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who arrived on a 7-day trip to India yesterday visited the world-famous Taj Mahal in Agra on Sunday.
Trudeau was accompanied along with his wife Sophie Gregoire and his three children, Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien.
The Taj Mahal, located along the Yamuna river, was built by Shah Jahan, a 17th century Mughal ruler for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to her fourteenth child.
Trudeau will also visit the wildlife sanctuary in Mathura's Churmura today. The sanctuary will remain shut for two hours during his visit.
During his week-long stay in India, Trudeau will also visit Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Amritsar. Trudeau's visit to Gujarat will be the first by a Canadian prime minister.
The ties between India and Canada have been on an upswing. Approximately 1.4 million Canadians are of Indian heritage and India is Canada's second largest source of immigrants.
Canada is also a leading education destination for Indian students, and India is the second largest source of international students, an estimated 124,000 in 2017, as per official figures.

A number of Trudeau's cabinet colleagues including Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains, Defence MInister Harjit Singh Sajjan, Science and Sports Minister Kirsty Duncan and Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi are also visiting India.
