The red carpet hits and misses...

Emmys 2017 red carpet saw actresses embracing colours with elan which was a refreshing change. Also, there a strong nod to shimmer and colour blocking. While Sarah Paulson glimmered in a fully beaded Carolina Herrera number, Zoe Kravitz picked a colour blocked ombre Dior gown. Priyanka Chopra too gave a thumbs up to surface embellishments by opting for a statement Balmain which had a mermaid-like feathery hem. On the other hand, Nicole Kidman colour blocked her red dress with pink shoes, Millie Bobby Brown and Evan Rachel Wood stood out in head-to-toe whites. It was interesting to see Deon Cole and Brandon Flynn taking a break from the tuxedo grind and opting for plaid and plae blue suits.
Sarah Paulson looked like a nymph straight from a fairy-tale in a fully sequinned Carolina Herrera gown. She added more metallic elements to the ensemble like the clutch and shoes. Keeping her hair sleek with a center parting, she opted for pale pink lips.
Zoe Kravitz added a gamine edge to the ensemble with her boyish mane. The feathery gown with multiple ombre shade got photographed beautifully. She added to the great finish by throwing on a two-layered diamond necklace.
Priyanka Chopra proved yet again that she’s the seductress supreme in a beaded and feathery Balmain number. The Quantico lass made the look rather fierce by opting for bold plum lips and smokey eyes. With her hair pulled back into a sleek pony and goth manicure, she slayed it.
Nicole Kidman opted for a pin-tucked and pleated dress fastened by silver straps. She accented her face with a bold red pout and opted for contrasting pair of pink shoes.
Millie Bobby Brown looked radiant in an off-shoulder ballerina outfit which had a monochrome sash tied around the waist. A pair of sparkly kitten heels and pink lips completed the look.
Evan Rachel Wood picked a pristine white pantsuit comprising of a waistcoat and a cummerbund. A pair of dangler earrings and a matching clutch added to a polished finish.
In a sea of tuxedos, Brandon Flynn stood out in a pale blue pantsuit completing his look with a floral printed tie. A pair of tanned lace-up leather shoes and an earring added to a rustic yet charming vibe.
Deon Cole looked suave and sophisticated in a plaid suit and a statement bowtie. A floral lapel pin and black shoes added to a sleek finish.
Ariel Winter’s Zuhair Murad had a jarring surface texturing and the double thigh-high slits just didn’t help. The less said about the hair and make-up the better.
Sarah Hyland’s Zac Posen number was just blah for an Emmys red carpet event. Not digging the autumnal leaf pattern.
Heidi Klum ruined her red carpet look by adding those giant hoops, bracelets and clutch to the look. It was confusing and contrived.
