Yatra: Details of Anasuya's character in late politician YSR's biopic are out

A biopic on the life of legendary politician YS Rajasekhar Reddy is in the pipeline. And the project is turning bigger and better with prominent stars from the Telugu film industry being roped in for various roles in the film.

Titled Yatra, the shoot of the film kick-started in Hyderabad a few days back. 

Malayalam superstar Mammootty is returning to Telugu cinema with the lead role in this biopic. Latest reports reveal that TV presenter and actress Anasuya is also going to play a short, but crucial part in the upcoming film.  She is said to feature as a politician who is going to represent Kurnool. 

If sources are to be believed, Anasuya has a powerful role assigned and she will be sharing the screen with Mammootty in the crisp assignment. 

Filmmaker Mahi V Raghav told News Minute, "Yatra focuses on a particular event - the 1500 kms long journey on foot across Andhra Pradesh - in YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s life which also turned out to be a life-changing experience for him. Mammootty understood that we were trying to celebrate a character like YSR through this biopic and I couldn’t be more excited that he agreed to play the lead role."

As per Deccan Chronicle report, Prabhas, who is a very close friend of the producer doesn't want to compromise on the budget. Baahubali actor liked the story narration that he is ready to lend his support to 'Yatra'. 

Directed by Mahi V Raghav, and produced by 70mm Entertainments, Yatra has been slated for a Sankranti 2019 release. 

Apart from Yatra, Anasuya has also been roped in to play a critical role in Anil Ravipudi’s F2 (Fun and Frustration) which will also see Venkatesh and Varun Tej in the lead roles.
