Katrina finally spoke at length about her personal life, broke silence on the split with Ranbir and explained why her priorities have now changed...

Katrina Kaif suffered a severe heartbreak earlier this year. Her long standing relationship with Ranbir Kapoor was officially over. After months of silence, Ranbir gave a tell-all interview to a channel, talking at length about his much public split.

Katrina still maintained her decorum. On a promotional spree for Baar Baar Dekho, Kat takes the personal questions on her stride and answers them this time, without giving them a dodge. Read on.

Has being on social media changed you as a person?
No, I am exactly the same person as I have always been. It's just what people see. Now they get a chance to see you more that's all. The person you are doesn't change. They are seeing different avenues and glimpses to your life they have not seen before.

How do you tackle trolls?
I don't believe that happens much on Facebook and at the moment, am only on Facebook. I think this happens more on Twitter which I am not yet.

You personally went through a lot of things while shooting for BBD. Did that ever cause hindrance?
i think everyone should separate their personal and professional lives. Although there's a lot that can be said on this topic, I am sure a lot of people will understand what I would say if I was to say something. Having said that, I have taken a decision and always stood by that. To not talk about my personal life and I have my own reasons.

But when the other party gives a tell-all interviews, does it seem unfair?
(Smirks) So you take every moment in life as it comes and I still say, even though every time anyone from the media asks me this question, it only comes from a lace of love and care. I completely respect that but I would still choose not to talk about it.

Do men really run away from marriage?
It's actually not a gender thing but it's a person thing. There are women who are not wanting to get married and want to focus on their careers. But yes, if one has to generalise then I have to admit women are generally little more inclined towards having a family, towards attachment or protecting and veering and all that. Most women are like that. Some women do feel differently. There's a book called Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg that deals extensively on this topic. I would like to have both.

Would you like to give up on your career for a family?
Absolutely, if I wanted to. Not being forced to. But if that's what I felt, maybe I might feel that I want my heart to be at home, then why not? I will follow my own instincts in that manner.

Are you commitment phobic?
No, I am not commitment phobic at all.

Where do you picture yourself at 35. 46 or 60?
35 is pretty near. 46 is kinda far away but honestly, I can't even picture myself 3 days from here onwards. It's been a whirlwind of a year for me. And there's a lot on my plate. So now my focus is on what I am doing immediately. It's a little bit of a short term plan. I believe there are times when you do need to see what's around you and put your full energies to it and those maybe the times when something wonderful might happen although you would least expect it.
