Daughter of sitarist Ravi Shankar and half-sister of singer Norah Jones took to Instagram to share a selfie while breast-feeding her toddler and wrote an emotional post about how she takes pride in the miracle her body has accomplished. She even wished herself happy birthday when her son turned three. Anoushka wrote, "Three years ago today, I became a mother for the second time. Today, I’m reflecting on the fact that not just my son was birthed that day. I want to take a moment to acknowledge my own journey in growing and carrying this human soul inside of me, and being the primary witness to his growth since he entered the world. I am learning to tap into sources of infinite love so that I can channel it for my children. I have learned to be as solid as an oak tree to shield them from any storm. Today I remind myself that I am allowed to take pride in the miracle that my body accomplished, and in the commitment I made to him in my soul. So yes, while I say happy birthday to my excited child, I also, quietly, proudly and with infinite gratitude, say happy birthday to myself."
This isn't the first time she has give us major mommy goals. Her Instagram account is flooded with beautiful moments with her sons. As 2017 came to an end, Anoushka shared a beautiful picture where the bikini clad musician with her baby in her arms watched the sun gone down. She wrote, "I’m ending this year full of gratitude. There’s been a lot of pain, and yet I still have the greatest gifts I could have asked for: my two beautiful sons and the incredible opportunity for growth being their mother gives me; the chance to express myself creatively and connect to other souls through music; and relationships that carry me through the hardest times and are genuinely worth living and dying for. #newyearreflections #sunset #jamaica #gratitude"
