The actress duo have been sharing cold vibes from a while now, however they have never hit out at each other directly. But, we think that things may just change now!
Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone may not admit it, but they aren’t the best of friends, maybe not even friends. The duo have not even seen eye-to-eye since the Tanu Weds Manu Returns (TWMR) success party, but things may just get worse. Why you ask? We revealed to you earlier this week that Aanand L Rai has refused to work with Kangana and is reportedly in talks with Deepika for his next. And with this, we are sure that the cold war will only worsen in the days to come.
The Deepika-Kangana cold war began when Deepika dedicated the Best Actress award she won (for Happy New Year) to Kangana for her performance in Queen. To this, the Queen actress thought if Deepika had liked her performance so much, she should have called her to compliment rather than making it public. In an interview Kangana also went on to say, “I got genuine compliments from Shah Rukh Khan who called me directly, Salman Khan, Aamir sir called me directly. Amitabh Bachchan also called me directly and even Priyanka (Chopra). Everyone called me, but Deepika never called me.”
Shortly after this, Deepika called Kangana and cleared all the misunderstandings between them. But when Kangana spoke to the media about the call, Deepika didn’t like it. She shot back at a journalist and said, “It was a personal conversation, I don’t know why people are talking about it.”
However, Deepika let bygones be bygones, but things got nasty after Deepika couldn’t attend the TWMR screening. Kangana was furious and in an interview to a leading paper she said, “I did extend an invite to Deepika, but I never got a response. I have always been supportive of my contemporaries and will continue to be, but it is hurtful when you don’t get the same kind of support.”
Sources close to Deepika maintained that she could not attend the screening as she was shooting that day. She even sent Kangana a text message explaining that, but we guess Kangana was still furious as she did not invite Deepika for the TWMR success party and producer Krishika Lulla had to call Deepika. At the party as soon as Deepika walked in, Kangana left the party without even saying a hello to her. Everyone present at the party understood that her exit was timed with Deepika’s entry. Now that Aanand L Rai also is planning to give her Tanu a miss and opt for Piku, will it just add on to the tension boiling between the two divas? Your guess is as good as ours!
