If rumours are to be believed, one of the popular shows of Indian television, Diya Aur Baati Hum may go off air soon. The show debuted in the year 2011 and has been one of the favourites of the masses since then.

However, according to The Times of India, the show may soon be taken down because of unsteady ratings and tantrums of the protagonists, Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid.  A source revealed, "At one point of time, the show was the top show on the channel, but in the last few months, the ratings haven't been steady. Also, the makers are quite fed up of the tantrums of the lead pair of Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid who aren't the best of friends. In fact, last year Deepika had even slapped Anas while they were shooting and it was after CINTAA stepped in that the matter was resolved. There is a show that's being made on the life of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt that might be replacing the show," reports TOI.

Reportedly, the rumours about the show going off air aren't new. Such speculations have been making rounds since past one year. The producer of the daily soap, Shahi Mittal opines that they all  have been like a family for the past 5 years now and any family may have small issues. She said, "It's like a family. Jaise family mein paanch saal saath rehne mein issues hote hain waise hi yahaan par bhi chhote-mote issues hote hain. There is nobody who is throwing tantrums. If the show goes off air, it's all because of ratings. Even though there have been fluctuations in the ratings, our show continues to be in the top 10 shows. I haven't received any official intimation from the channel. We have been hearing news about the show going off air for the last one year," reports TOI.
