Will Dev Patel be the first Indian actor to win an Oscar?

The stage is set for Oscars 2017. Nominations are out and everyone's praying that their favourite star walks away with the Academy Award. 

This year, an Indian has been nominated in the main category. Dev Patel, who wowed us with a brilliant performance in Lion has been nominated in the supporting actor category at the Oscars. He has already won the BAFTA in the same category. Will Dev pull off the Oscar too?

If Dev manages to clinch it, he will also become the first ever Indian actor to do so. This isn't the first time an Indian has won an Academy Award but none of the previous winners from the nation were actors. So will Dev be the first one to work the magic? We'll get our answer soon!
