Saira Bano wishes long, healthy life to Dilip Kumar on birthday. Veteran actress Saira Bano has wished a long and healthy life to her legendary actor husband Dilip Kumar, who turned 93 today. "I wish him long and healthy life. He is doing fine...in the last two-three months there were ups and downs, but now he is fine," Saira said.

"Lots of love to him and my services to him. I don't believe in giving materialistic things, that we do often," she said. In his free time, Dilip Kumar watches sports on TV and listens to music. "He goes for a walk everyday to the garden. He watches sports on television, like cricket, football. He likes classical music. He was an athletic person. He likes to travel ...he likes Ooty, Mahabaleshwar, London," she said.

Heaping praises on her husband, Saira further said, "He is like a saint, he is always wishing good things for everyone even if others are not." Birthday wishes and gifts have been pouring-in for the thespian since last night. "There have been calls from India and abroad to wish him today. Lot of people have sent flowers and gifts. God has been kind to us. We are thankful to everyone for the love and wishes always," Saira said.

"Today we do lot of daan... we do it everyday but today it is more. We pray to god like any other day," she added. It will be a quiet birthday celebration for Dilip Kumar today, with just family and some friends.

However, what makes the occasion even more special this year is the felicitation that will follow. The actor is going to be honoured with the Padma Vibhushan (the country's second-highest civilian award) at home on December 13. Though the award was conferred uon him even earlier this year, he was unable to attend the ceremony in April at the Rashtrapati Bhavan owing to illness.

Saira thus added, "We got a call from Raj Bhavan and were informed that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will honour Dilip Sahab at home two days after his birthday. This makes it special."
