Karisma Kapoor has time and again hit headlines due to her on-off relationship with her estranged husband Sunjay Kapoor. In a freshly filed divorce petition, Sunjay has accused the actress of marrying him for his wealth. The petition alleges that Karisma Kapoor married the Delhi-based businessman "in a calculated and clinical manner to pursue a lavish lifestyle", according to a Mumbai Mirror report. But slamming Sunjay was Karisma's father Randhir Kapoor who clearly hit back at his son-in-law for all the allegations he made.
Alleging that Karisma married him as a rebound after her break up with Abhishek Bachchan, the petition goes on accuse her of "failing as a wife, daughter-in-law and as a mother". The petition alleges that as their 11-year-old marriage fell apart, she tried to portray him as a substance abuser, an alcoholic and a cheating husband, even as she had an affair, the report said.
Taking offence to the allegations made by the Delhi-based businessman, papa Kapoor clearly maintained his stance. "Everyone knows our credentials. We are Kapoors. We don’t need to run after anyone’s money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives," he told a leading daily. Not just that, Randhir also called Sunjay a 'third class man' and revealed that he 'never wanted Karisma marrying him'. "Sunjay has debauchery in his system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull**** to her, and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this," he revealed.
Although the legal battle has now taken an interesting course, we wonder what will be next!
