WATCH: New 'Logan' clip tells X-23's origin story

James Mangold's Logan is not only Hugh Jackman's last outing as Wolverine, it is also introducing a new mutant X-23 aka Laura Kinney.

20th Century Fox unveiled a new clip in the run-up to the release of Logan on March 3, 2017. In the clip, we see how Laura came to be X-23.

The origins clip includes grainy, shaky video of a lab full of strange equipment, weapons, potions, and monitors keeping tab of DNA structure and cell regeneration.

As the video continues, we see unconscious Laura being operated on as blood spills out of her hands and legs. This is when her retractable adamantium claws are being attached to her hands. 

Moving on, Laura and other mutant kids are seen being taken into rehabilitation cells where for the first time she realises the power and strength of her regenerative cells.

Apart from Hugh Jackman and Dafne Keen, Logan will star Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, and Richard E Grant.
