The most anticipated trailer of the year has landed! 'Star Wars' fandom, let's squee together!
At the ongoing 'Star Wars Celebration' in Orlando, Florida, Disney and Lucasfilm unveiled the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi amid much fanfare.
They also launched a hauntingly beautiful teaser poster for the upcoming movie.
The trailer starts with first words to come out of Luke Skywalker in 30 years. "Breathe, just breathe," tells Luke to his trainee Rey.
Under the tutelage of Luke, Rey is learning more about the Force. When Luke asks her to reach out, she sees light in the form of General Organa (Princess Leia), she sees darkness in the form of broken and busted dark helmet (possibly of either Darth Vader or Kylo Ren) and she sees the balance the Force is supposed to bring.
Luke trains Rey at the aquatic planet of Ahch-To where the Jedis originated. The training scenario looks more like Jackie Chan training Jaden Smith in 2010 Karate Kid. trailer. But now Rey can move mountains it seems.
The two-minute-long trailer continues, with Luke's narrative voice reminding Rey that it is so much bigger than it looks.
The teaser gives us the first glimpse of Finn after he was struck by Kylo Ren at the end of The Force Awakens. In the shot, he is still asleep so there is no way of knowing about his well being. BB-8 is seen running down the corridor at the Resistance base, followed by his master and X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron. Millennium Falcon comes swinging in the sky and we come back to Rey charging towards Kylo Ren, whose stare is enough to bestow death upon his enemies. For a brief second, Captain Phasma is seen leading the stormtroopers.
But nothing sounds more ominous than Luke saying, "I only know one truth. It's time for the Jedi to end."
There is tonne speculation awaiting our collective brains!
