Watch: Fierce than ever Cookie Lyon is back for her cubs and Lucious in the new trailer of 'Empire'

Fans of the television series Empire have a lot to look forward this September. The Lyon family is back in Season 3 and what with Cookie’s (Taraji Henson) sassiness and Lucious’s (Terrence Howard) cockiness, this season is gearing up to be one helluva of a roller coaster ride.

Season 3 has a lot of unanswered questions to address from season 2 – who fell off the terrace at the end of the season, Anika or Rhonda? Will Cookie and Lucious’s relationship survive the strain of Lucious marrying Anika? Who will rein the music industry – Hakeem or Jamal? This season also promises to delve deeper into the back story of Cookie and Lucious – going back in time to show where they first met as kids and their story began!

 
The new trailer for Empire Season 3 gives viewers a glimpse of the pair in their youth, with a throwback scene of a teenage Cookie and Lucious meeting for the first time, played by Ajiona Alexus and Jeremy Carver respectively. In the trailer, Cookie acknowledges the undeniable and seemingly unbreakable bond that she and Lucious share romantically, musically, and professionally, telling him, “When I first saw you rap, it changed my life.”
