The makers of Badrinath Ki Dulhania have unveiled the heartbreak song of the year, Roke Na Ruke Naina just a week before the release of the film. There's a lot to love about this heartbreaking number.
For starters Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan are picture perfect in their depiction of pain in love, especially Varun, who nails the 'disappointed lover' act. The scene with which the song begins, hits you hard, making you wonder what could possibly go wrong between this lovey dovey couple.
Throughout the song, we see Badri following his (would be?) Dulhania wherever she goes. It gives us the impression that he has lost all sense of time in the hope to catch a glimpse of Vaidehi, be it early mornings or late nights.
Kudos to Kumaar for the lyrics of the song which aptly sum up the pangs of love and the fear of separation that accompanies you when you fall for someone. Roke Na Ruke Naina gets your attention in the first two lines itself and holds you till the end. Amaal Mallik's composition in this number isn't out of the world but just works fine considering the slow, melancholic feel of the song.
And how can we talk about melancholic numbers without mentioning the one who has mastered them like no other in recent times. Yes, Arijit Singh has crooned this song in his usual style. Though the song is a personal favourite right from the time when the music album of the film was released, one can't help but point out that neither Arijit nor Amaal bring anything strikingly new to the song.
Nevertheless, Roke Na Ruke Naina, effectively brings out the pangs of love like never before and will surely make it to your playlists much like the other songs of the film.
