Trolls director Mike Mitchell has been hired to helm The Lego Movie sequel for Warner Bros Animation.

Mitchell will replace Rob Schrab who left the second Lego Movie due to creative differences, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sequel to 2014 hit adventure fantasy is scheduled for February 8, 2019 Stateside.

It is unclear if any of the original voice cast that include Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman will return to the follow-up story.

Mike Mitchell will continue the franchise established by Chris Miller and Phil Lord who are now have moved onto directing standalone Han Solo movie from Star Wars universe.

Speaking of Will Arnett, in another branch springing out of 'Lego Universe', The The Lego Batman Movie premiered in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The stand alone Batman movie came after the Lego version of the caped crusader was appreciated in 2014's The Lego Movie.
