Horror is back in a big way and the original masters of the genre — Ramsay brothers — are all set to make a film after years. The Ramsays (Tulsi, Kumar, Shyam, Keshu and Kiran) have reunited for the remake of their super hit film Veerana in 3D. The film will also be the launch vehicle of Tulsi’s daughter Sasha.

Tulsi had directed several horror movies in the ’80s and ’90s like Hotel, Purana Mandir, Tahkhana, Veerana and Bandh Darwaza. He has also directed the Zee Horror Show TV Series in 1993. The original Veerana starred Hemant Birje and Jasmin. Deepak Ramsay, who has been the second unit director and AD of films like Inspector Dhanush, Bandh Darwaza, and Veerana (also writer) confirms, “Yes the Ramsay brothers are planning to remake Veerana in 3D. We are still in the initial planning and scripting stages.

It’s too early to say whether the script will be the same as the original Veerana or wil have some changes as we don’t want to reveal the plot now. All I can say is that we are going to do it in a big way and not the usual small budget horror flicks that we used to do earlier. We plan to announce the film in the next couple of months. Apart from being in 3D, the Veerana remake will have lots of visual effects. I can’t talk beyond that as everything is under wraps. All I will says that it’s going to be a comeback for the Ramsays in a big way!”

Shyam Ramsay’s daughter Sasha will be directing the film.
